Squad Responds On MVA In Avenue

On Monday afternoon at 1258 hours, a rescue assignment was alerted for a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries on Colton Point Road in the area of Oakley Road. Companies 5, 59, 19, 29 and 79 were alerted to the incident. Ambulances were on the scene and responding to several other EMS calls at the time of the incident. Auto Fire In Avenue

7th District Volunteer's, July 26

Early Sunday morning Station 5 was alerted to a auto fire in the area of Holy Angels School in Avenue. Engine 52 arrived and located a vehicle fully involved. The crew utilized the bumper line to extinguish the fire. The vehicle was in motion when it caught fire and the Sheriff's Office was requested to the scene. Dump Truck On Its Side In Bushwood

7th District Volunteer's, July 20

On Monday afternoon at 1324 hours, Station 5, Squad 5. Squad 1, EMS 59, 19 and ALS were alerted to a serious motor vehicle accident on Colton Point Road in the area of Capt. Sams Store. Units were advised a dump truck overturned with one person trapped. Chief 5A arrived on the scene and located a single dump truck on its side with no entrapment. Station Alerted To MVA In Bushwood

Tuesday afternoon at 1444 hours, Companies 5, 59 and 19 were alerted to Maddox Road in the area of Bushwood Road in Bushwood for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Captain 5 arrived on the scene just after dispatch and advised of a two vehicle accident still in the roadway with two patients. National Weather Service Confirms EF-1 Tornado

The National Weather Service confirmed today that the damage during yesterdays storm was caused by a EF-1 Tornado. National Weather Service personnel came to the area and were assisted by the department in conducting a survey of the damage. There were two tornadoes both originating in Charles County. The first had a 2.1 mile path in the Morgantown community.

Boat Pulls Two From Wicomico After Canoe Overturns

Fire Chief J.A. Nelson, June 28

On Sunday at 1132 hours, Station 5, Boat 5, Charles Boat 6, and EMS Stations 59 and 19 were alerted to a water rescue in the Wicomico River off Bushwood Wharf. Units responded and were advised a canoe overturned and two subjects were in the water. Chief 5 arrived on scene and established the command. The subjects could be seen hanging onto the canoe about 300 yards off shore.

Suspected Tornado Hits Maddox And Clements Area

On Saturday evening as crews were preparing to go to the Price of Freedom Music Festival, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning St. Mary's County. Company 5 was then alerted for Boat 5 for people in the water in Neal Sound in Charles County.
