Units Respond To Garage Fire In Colton's Point

Seventh District VFD, November 19

At 1153 hours Wednesday night, Stations 5, 1, 2, 7, 59 and 19 were alerted to a reported garage fire on Charles Hall Road in Colton's Point. While units were responding, information was received from additional callers that the garage was fully involved. Single Vehicle Accident In Abell

Thursday evening at approximately 1830 hours, Chief 5 drove up on a single vehicle accident on Abell Road at Hatchet Thicket Road. The vehicle was off the road into a tree in the woods. A electric pole with wires and transformers were also down. Companies 5, 59 and 19 were dispatched to the incident.

Veteran's Day Parade In Leonardtown

On Tuesday morning several volunteer's took apparatus to Leonardtown to participate in the annual Veteran's Day Parade. This parade is the largest of its kind in the state. Several hundred participants took part in the parade and were welcomed by thousands of spectators. The streets of Leonardtown were packed with people who waved flags and cheered for the passing parade groups.

Single Vehicle Overturned In Avenue

On Sunday morning at 1153 hours, Stations 5, 59 and 19 were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Colton Point Road in the area of Holy Angels Church. Squad 5 responded at dispatch and upon arrival located the vehicle overturned in a ditch. The single patient was able to self extricate from the vehicle prior to arrival.

Fire Reported Out In Colton's Point

Seventh District Volunteers, October 28

Tuesday night Company 5 was alerted to a fire reported out on Dave Bailey Road in Colton's Point. Engine 52, 51 and Tanker 5 all responded to the call with 10 volunteers. Upon arrival, Engine 52 located a fire that had been extinguished on the rear of the house. The crew pulled the siding from the house and checked for further extension. Units Respond To Field Fire

On Tuesday afternoon as units returned to quarters from an odor of smoke in a residence in Mechanicsville, the station was alerted to a brush fire on Wellington Lane. Brush 5, Brush 5A and Tanker 5 responded just after dispatch. Units arrived and located abut an acre of a large field on fire. Both brush units used their booster lines and extinguished the fire. Engine Stands By At 5K In Colton's Point

On Sunday morning a crew on Engine 52 stood by for the third annual Colton's Point Costume Capers 5k walk/run. The event was held in support of the Chopticon High School band. The race begins at St. Clement's Island Museum and proceeds up Colton Point Road to Waterloo Circle. It loops back and ended on the water front at the state pier.
