Units Respond On Barn Fire In Morganza

At 0232 hours, Stations 1, 2, 5, 7, 9 and EMS 19 and 29 were alerted to Colton Point Road in the area of Alvey Lane for a report house fire. Units responded and were advised of a possible house fire that appeared to have been burning for an extended period of time. Chief 5A arrived a short time later locating a 50' X 100' barn fully involved.

Engine Stands By For Annual Jazz Festival

Saturday afternoon marked the date for the annual Potomac Jazz & Seafood Festival held in Colton's Point. As usual, the event was sold out and a great turn out was expected. This event each year is held on the grounds of the St. Clement's Island Museum. Members from Company 5 were there to stand by with the engine and crew for the event. Department Takes Part In Hollywood Celebration

On Saturday evening Engine 52 and Brush 5 headed to Hollywood to participate in their annual Independence Day Celebration. Engine 52 filled in for the company during the event. Brush 5 was utilized at the fireworks display to stand by in the event of any fires during the shoot.

Boat 5 Assists in Wicomico River Rescue

On Saturday morning just before 0800 hours, Company 5 was alerted mutual aid to Charles County for the reported boat taking on water. MSU 5 along with Boat 5 marked up shortly after dispatch and received updated information on the location placing the call in Company 5's first due in the area of St. Margaret's Island. Water Rescue Training With Mechanicsville

On Monday evening for our weekly drill, members went to Wicomico Shores Landing to participate in water rescue training with Company 2. The training gave members a chance to use the rafts for different types of rescues from the water. Members practiced pulling victims into the rafts, throwing rescue ropes and life rings and maneuvering the rafts on the water. The training was great for both departments. ... (Full Story & Photos)

Cardinal Wuerl Celebrates Mass On St. Clement's Island

On Sunday morning members stood by with Engine 52 and Boat 5 for a special mass held on St. Clement's Island. Company Alerted for Serious MVA in Clements

Early Thursday morning, just after 0120 hours, Companies 5, 59, 19, Squad 1 and ALS were alerted to a reported serious personal injury accident on Budds Creek Road in the area of Horseshoe Road in Clements. Early reports advised of a two vehicle accident with one overturned and with entrapment. Squad 5 responded followed by Engine 52 with a total of 8 volunteers.
