Boat 5 Returns To Service After Rehab Project

7th District Volunteer's, July 22

Over the past several months Boat 5 has undergone a rehab project for several modifications and upgrades. Boat 5 is a 2001 25' Sea Ark Commander. The boat had the rehab work done at Willard Marine in Virginia Beach, VA. The rehab project included the following:

-Upgrade motors from 115 hp to 150 hp
-Change lights to LED emergency lighting
-Add LED scene lighting
-Replace search light

Working Garage Fire On Abell Road

Fire Chief J.A. Nelson, July 11

On Monday afternoon 1257 hours, Engine 5, Tanker 5, Tanker 1, Truck 1, Engine 2, Tanker 2, Truck 7, Engine 7, Charles Squad 2, and EMS Stations 59 and 29 were alerted to a report garage fire on Abell Road in Abell. During the week of June 19th the annual Maryland State Firemen's Association Convention was held in Ocean City. During this years convention, our Auxiliary President Barbara Nelson was sworn in as the Maryland State Firemen's Association Ladies Auxiliary President. Small Kitchen Fire In Avenue

At 0041 hours on Monday morning, Station 5 was alerted to a fire reported out on Oakley Road in Avenue. Engine 52 and Tanker 5 responded and upon arrival located a single story house with smoke showing. The engine crew pulled an attack line to the residence investigated a fire in the kitchen. Farm Tractor Fire In Chaptico

At 0639 hours Company 5 was alerted to the area of 24440 Hurry Road for a tractor on fire. Engine 52 and Brush 5 responded on the call. Chief 5A was first to arrive on scene, with a tractor in the middle of a field fully involved. A few minutes later Engine 52 and Brush 5 arrived and made access to the field utilizing an access path. Single Vehicle Accident On Colton Point Road

7th District Volunteer's , April 21

On Tuesday afternoon Stations 5, 59 and 19 were alerted to a single vehicle accident on Colton Point Road in the area of Paul Ellis Road. Reports were of a single vehicle into a pole with wires down. Units responded and upon arrival located the single vehicle with a single patient. There were no wires down in the roadway. The crew from Sqaud 5 secured the vehicle and assisted EMS.
