Early Saturday morning at 0059 hours, Stations 5, 1, 59, 19 and ALS were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Colton Point Road in the area of Capt. Sams. Units were advised of a single vehicle overturned with a subject trapped.
Chief 5 arrived on the scene and located a pickup truck overturned and the patients arm trapped under the roof. The assignment was held with Company 5 and a paramedic ambulance. The Squad crew arrived and utilized the air bags and spreaders to lift the truck off the patients hand.
Once the vehicle was lifted, the patient was removed and EMS began patient care. Paramedic Ambulance 597 transported the patient to St. Mary's Hospital. Crews removed a tree that was hit by the vehicle and knocked down in the road.
Once the road was clear all units returned to quarters.
