April 16, 2014

On Wednesday afternoon, at 1319 hours, Company 5 was alerted for Water Supply 5 to the 3-10 box for a working house fire with subjects trapped. Water Supply 5 marked up shortly after dispatch. Units arrived on scene to find a single story working house fire. Crews from Bay District VFD entered the structure and were able to rescue both occupants within moments of arriving on scene. A short time later command requested additional tankers be alerted which brought Engine 51 to the call. Water Supply 5 responded to St. Mary's College in St. Marys City to establish the water source and filled tankers with over 16,000 gallons of water to be transported to the scene. Engine 51 responded to the fire ground and assisted for a short period before being placed in service. In all crews from Company 5 operated for approximately 3 hours.
