On both Friday and Saturday afternoons, units from Company 5 stood by at the annual lawn mower races at Bowles Farm in Clements. The race is held annually to benefit the Seventh District Optimist Club and the Seventh District Rescue Squad. A crew was staged near the front entrance to the track opposite of the pit area with the UTV and EMS gear. Personnel stood by in the event of an accident or other incident where assistance would be needed. Despite the weather, both days events were able to be held. Many fans came out to support the cause, leading the event to another great success. During both days the crews from Company 5 assisted with several minor accidents with only one patient requiring ground transport to SMH.
