On Sunday morning at 0541 hours, Station 5 was alerted to a brush fire on Pond Point Farm Lane in Maddox. Brush 5, Brush 5A and Tanker 5 responded to the call and upon arrival located about 1/2 acre of open field burning. With the high winds the fire quickly spread to about an acre before being contained. Crews operated for approximately 45 minutes before returning to quarters.
