At 1700 hours on Tuesday Water Supply 5 was alerted mutual aid to Station 2 at 28110 Mechanicsville Road for the reported barn fire. Chief 2 arrived finding a working fire and advised it would initially be a defensive attack. Engine 24 arrived and the crew pulled lines to the fire a majority of the fire. Additional units from surrounding companies responded to the scene to assist. Water Supply 5 set up on a hydrant at Wild Goose Crest subdivision to fill tankers.

Water Supply 5 operated for just under an hour before returning to service. The fire is under investigation by the Maryland State Fire Marshals office.
