Monday afternoon at 1330 hours, Station 5 was alerted along with Stations 2 and 1 on an upgraded assignment mutual aid to Charles County at 13900 Stoltzfus Lane in Charlotte Hall. Units from Company 2 were already responding when additional calls were taken for a woods fire now threatening a residence. Engine 52 responded to the call with 5 volunteers. As units began arriving it was determined that no residence was involved, however units did have a large brush and woods fire.

Engine 52 was held on the assignment for man power and continued to the scene. Upon arrival the engine crew assisted with creating a fire line and general mop up from the fire attack. Forestry was requested to the scene by command and units were able to contain the fire within a short distance into the woods. Engine 52 operated on the incident for approximately one hour before returning to service.
