Pumper Tanker And Water Supply Respond On Mechanicsville Barn

On Monday morning at 0705 hours, Company 5 was alerted for the reported barn fire off of Lockes Crossing Road in Mechanicsville. Water Supply 5 responded and first arriving units located a large pole barn fully involved. Water Supply 5 responded to the scene where there was a pond to draft from, however upon arrival a large portion of the fire had been knocked so the crew was utilized for man power. Tanker 51 also was diverted from a transfer to Company 2 for the barn fire and they responded to the scene with four volunteers and assisted with overhaul. Units operated for just over an hour before returning to quarters.
