On Thursday morning, at approximately 0300 hours, Company 5 was alerted for the engine mutual aid to Mechanicsville for the reported house on fire. Engine 52 responded shortly after dispatch with 6 volunteers. Mechanicsville units arrived on scene finding a two story residence with heavy fire through out and began the fire attack. Upon Engine 52's arrival they were assigned to RIT briefly before being reassigned to division 2. The engine crew assisted on the fire ground for over 3 hours with extinguishing, overhaul and mop up before being placed in service.
