On Saturday December 1, 2018 the annual installation of officers was held at Holy Angels Hall in Avenue. The evening began with the installation of the 2019 officers for the department. After the new officers were sworn in, the guests enjoyed a meal prepared by Rita B's Catering. Once dinner was over, the memorial ceremony and awards were presented. Sheriff Tim Cameron was the Master of Ceremonies for the event. A memorial ceremony was held for Charter Member John H, Nelson, Jr. The Nelson Family was presented a shadow box with pins and the flag flying at the station at the time of his death.

The awards were then given out with several members receiving them for their accomplishments throughout the year. The awards list is as follows.

50 Years of Service - Mike Huseman and Anthony Hammett
Top Responder - T.J. Faunce
Top Driver - Kim Mason
Top Training - Steven Vallandingham
Rookie of the Year - Garret Tullos
Firefighter of the Year - Steven Vallandingham

A Unit Citation was presented to members from out department along with member from Leonardtown, Mechanicsville and Hollywood for their response to a tractor trailer into a home in February of 2018. We thank everyone who we have worked with over the past year and look forward to a great 2019.
