Volunteer's Respond To House Fire In Longview Beach |

At 1715 hours, Station 5 along with surrounding companies were alerted to a structure fire on Ricardo Drive in Longview Beach. Chief 5A arrived and located heavy fire throughout the house with all occupants accounted for. Chief 5 arrived and established the Longview Beach Command. Engine 52's crew pulled two lines to the structure and began knocking the fire. Next arriving companies assisted with extinguishing the fire and ventilation. Water Supply 5 established the draft site on Lagoon Drive. Crews from Mechanicsville, Leonardtown, Hollywood and Hughesville also operated on the scene. The occupant of the house was checked out by EMS on the scene. The fire was caused by a faulty charcoal grill on the back deck of the home. Crews operated for approximately 2 hours before returning to quarters. |
