On Friday evening the annual Community Christmas Party and Tree Lighting was held at the station. This event held each year is sponsored by the Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary, Seventh District Volunteer Rescue Squad and Auxiliary, Seventh District Optimist Club, American Legion Post 221 and Auxiliary and the St. Clement's Island Museum.

This year we had a great turnout. Fire truck rides began at 5:00 and at 6:00 a parade of fire and ems apparatus came up Colton Point Road. Santa arrived on Rescue Squad 5 and his first order of business was to light the Christmas Tree. Once the tree was lit he took time out to hear what all of the kids wanted for Christmas.

Many local businesses donated toys for the door prizes. There were some great gifts for children to choose from if their name was drawn. We would like to send a special thanks to Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department and Bay District Volunteer Fire Department for bringing apparatus down to help out with the fire truck rides.

We hope everyone enjoyed the evening. From our family to yours we hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.
