Monday morning at 0656, Station 5 was alerted for a personal injury accident on Maddox Road near Budds Creek Road. Squad 5 responded with four personnel and arrived to locate a single vehicle that had struck a patch of ice and veered off the roadway. The vehicle came to rest near the head of a drainage ditch surrounded by two feet of water on all sides. With the patient removed prior to arrival by the Sheriff's Office, the crew assisted with stabilizing the vehicle and traffic control until the vehicle could be removed from ditch. Units operated on the scene for just over thirty minutes.
