Company 5 Alerted for Hazardous Condition in 5-10 Box

On Friday evening at 1839 hours, Company 5 was alerted for a Hazardous Condition at 37010 Willie Cheseldine Road in Bushwood. Squad 5 responded shortly after dispatch and arrived on location along with Chief 5. Crews located a 250 gallon heating oil drum that had been overturned and leaked off an estimated 20-35 gallons of fuel oil to the rear of the residence. Upon further investigation it was determined to alert Haz Mat 18 and Maryland Department of Environment. Crews from Squad 5 began stabilizing the drum and assisted the Haz Mat team with clean up. Units operated on the scene for just under two hours.
