At 1134 hours on Wednesday, Station 5 was alerted to a vehicle fire on Bushwood Wharf Road in the area of Quade's Store. Fireboard advised a combine was on fire in a field. Brush 5 and Engine 53 responded to the call. Once Brush 5 arrived they located a fully involved combine in the middle of a field off Chickahominy Lane.

There was no access for the engine to get to the fire. Brush 5 went out in the field and the crew began to extinguish the fire. Personnel hand jacked hose from Engine 53 out to the brush truck to suppy water.

The fire started in the engine area while the combine was being operated. Engine 53 and Brush 5 returned to quarters at 1257 hours.
