Live Fire Training
By: Fire Chief J.A. Nelson
Date: January 24, 2010
On Sunday morning several members came out to participate in a live fire burn at an acquired structure in Bushwood. Members had been preparing the house for the past week for the burn. Crews from Companies 1, 2, and 7 also participated in the drill.
After doing some final prepration and set up, the first burn was started around 8:00 a.m. There were six total crews between the 4 departments participating. Crews made it though the structure 3 times in the 8 rooms that were burned.
After all of the rooms were burned the structure was "let go" and burned to the ground. This was a great training opportunity for all the volunteers. We would like to thank all the department for participating and a special thanks to the owner of the property for donating the house for the burn.
