Wednesday morning at 1036 hours a house fire assignment was dispatched in the 38000 block of Foley Mattingly Road in Helen. The initial dispatch brought units from Company 2, 1, Charles 2, 7, Water Supply 5 and EMS Companies 29 and 19. Shortly after dispatch Water Supply Officer 5 arrived on scene and advised incoming units of a two story home with smoke showing and reported fire in the walls.

Engine Companies 5 and Charles 5 were added to the assignment. Engine 54 responded with 4 personnel. Upon arrival Engine 54 laid a supply line from Engine 23's line and set up draft from a pond directly in front of the home. The engine crew then reported to the division 2 and began opening up and ventilating for the attack crew.

Tanker 5 also responded to the scene and stood by for additional water. The fire was contained to the A/B corner and crews soon began overhaul and clean up. Crews operated for just over two hours before returning to service.
