Friday, December 7th, was our annual Christmas Tree Lighting at Company 5. Members had been setting up for the event several nights each week in advance, and had several committee meetings to prepare for what was expected to be a great turn out. Without disappointment the event went off without a hitch and was a great success for the community to come together. Doors opened at 5 p.m., starting with fire truck rides, games, face painting and refreshments. Then at 6 p.m., the man everyone came to see Santa Claus, arrived and began seeing all the kids who had been waiting anxiously. At 7 p.m., we began to raffle off all the gifts that had been donated for the event by various businesses and families in the area. In all the night was great fun and with over 400 people attending, kept all of the members hands full all night. The Seventh District Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary would like to thank everyone who participated and attended this years tree lighting and we look forward to seeing everyone next year.
