| On Thursday afternoon members took part in the annual swim across the Potomac River held by the Heights School in Potomac, MD. This year about 40 11th grade students plunged into the river and began the swim which is just under a mile long. The students make this swim after biking to Colton's Point from Cobb Island. Once they have completed the swim and spent the night on the Island, they will officially be seniors at their school. After only about 30 minutes the first student made it to the island. This was one of the best years with all but three students being successful in completing the swim to the Island. Students not able to make the full swim were given a lift by Raft 7, Raft 22 and Boat 5. Units returned to quarters at approximately 1600 hours. |
