On Monday night after our weekly drill, members were at the station as storms were coming through the area. As the storms passed, Company 5 was alerted to a tree down on Point Breeze Road in Colton's Point. Brush 5 and Brush 5A arrived on scene and made contact with several home owners who reported trees and wires down and damage to homes. Chief 5, Squad 5 and Engine 54 all responded to the area to assist. A total of 16 volunteers responded on the units. Crews located large limbs on homes, a boat that was blown off a trailer, wires down and minor wind damage to shingles and gutters. Residents in the area reported heavy wind and loud noise in the area at the time of the storm. A water spout came on shore in the same area of Colton's Point last year. After SMECO arrived and the homes and roads were clear all units returned to quarters. http://www.weather.gov/lwx/20130610MarylandTornadoes DETAILS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ...BRIEF EF-0 TORNADO CONFIRMED IN COLTONS POINT MARYLAND...
