On Tuesday morning at 1142 hours, just after Engine 54 returned to quarters from a house fire in Country Lakes, Stations 5, 59 and 19 were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Oakley Road in the area of Banerjee Court. Truck Company 1 was in Clements and requested to run the assignment as Squad 5 marked up with 5.

Truck 1 arrived on location of the accident with a single vehicle that struck a tree with heavy entrapment. Squad 5 arrived and Lieutenant Faunce assumed command. Both crews went to work extricating the patient. After an assessment by the crews during the extrication, a helicopter was requested for the patient.

Crews worked on both sides of the vehicle to remove the passengers door and roll the dash on the drivers side. The drivers side door and roof were crushed had pinned the patients lower extremities in the vehicle. The crews boarded the patient after the extrication was completed and transported to the Ambulance to await the arrival of the helicopter.

Engine 54 handled the landing site for Trooper 7 at the accident scene. The patient was flown priority one to the trauma center. Squad 5 also handled a smoke investigation on Budds Creek Road while Engine 54 was on the landing site.

All units returned to quarters at 1231 hours.
