| February 9, 2014 | |
| On Thursday and Friday of last week, apparatus committee members traveled to Osceola, WI to CustomFire to conduct the final inspection on the departments new engine. Thursday morning when members arrived at the factory, a walk around of the engine was conducted. The committee members checked all the components of the engine and ensured everything was built to specifications. On Friday, the committee members returned to the factory to complete the spec review and to road test the engine. The tilt test was also witnessed at the factory. This test checks the rollover stability of the engine. Sand bags were placed inside the apparatus to siumlate it being fully loaded with equipment and personnel. The inspection ended Friday afternoon with a chance to take some photos in the snow covered back drop. On Monday the engine will head to get lettering applied and should arrive at our station sometime within the next two weeks. The members were very pleased with the final product and the quality of work conducted by CustomFire. The final product was everything we expected and will serve the community well for many years to come. We are excited to get the engine home so we can begin placing equipment and start training. Check back for additional pictures once the lettering is applied and the engine arrives at the station. |
