On Thursday evening at 1737 hours, Stations 5, 1, 59, 19 and ALS were alerted to a serious motor vehicle accident on Colton Point Road in the area of Budds Creek Road. As units responded they were informed that callers advised it was a two vehicle accident with ejection.

Chief 5 arrived on the scene about a mile from the Clements intersection and located two vehicles with one occupant ejected down an embankment. Chief 5 established the Colton Point Road Command. Squad 5 arrived on the scene and the crew began securing the patient on a backboard to be removed up the embankment.

Ambulance 299 was headed back from a call and was the first arriving EMS unit. Their crew took over patient care while crews worked to get the patient into a stokes basket to be hoisted up the bank. Upon arrival the crew from Squad 1 assisted Squad 5 while Engie 54 secured the vehicles.

Ambulance 197 was the next arriving EMS unit and cared for the other patient involved in the crash. Paramedic 597 and Medic 2 also arrived at the scene. Ambulance 299 transported priority one to St. Mary's Hospital and 197 transported priority three. Once the patients were transported, Squad 1 and Engine 54 returned to service. Squad 5 remained on the scene for a short period of time to assist the Sheriff's Office with lighting.

Command was terminated and units returned to quarters in about 90 minutes.
