Company Alerted for Serious MVA in Clements

Early Thursday morning, just after 0120 hours, Companies 5, 59, 19, Squad 1 and ALS were alerted to a reported serious personal injury accident on Budds Creek Road in the area of Horseshoe Road in Clements. Early reports advised of a two vehicle accident with one overturned and with entrapment. Squad 5 responded followed by Engine 52 with a total of 8 volunteers. Chief 5A was the first arriving advising of an overturned vehicle with all occupants out and another vehicle off the roadway. The correct address of the accident was in the area of Woodmark Court in Chaptico. Chief 5 arrived and assumed the Budds Creek Road Command. Shortly after, the second vehicles occupant was able to free himself and the assignment was scaled back to hold units from Co.5 and all EMS. Squad 5 arrived and stabilized and secured power from both vehicles and began to assist with patient loading. Engine 52 arrived shortly after blocking off the roadway and assisted the Squad crew. Crews from Co.59 received 3 signed refusals and Ambulance 198 transported 1 patient with non life threatening injuries to St. Marys Hospital. Crews operated for just under an hour before returning to quarters.
