On Tuesday afternoon as units returned to quarters from an odor of smoke in a residence in Mechanicsville, the station was alerted to a brush fire on Wellington Lane. Brush 5, Brush 5A and Tanker 5 responded just after dispatch. Units arrived and located abut an acre of a large field on fire. Both brush units used their booster lines and extinguished the fire. Tanker 5 extinguished the pile of debris that caused the fire. Units returned to quarters within 30 minutes.
