At 1153 hours Wednesday night, Stations 5, 1, 2, 7, 59 and 19 were alerted to a reported garage fire on Charles Hall Road in Colton's Point. While units were responding, information was received from additional callers that the garage was fully involved. Chief 5 arrived on the scene and located a detached garage with heavy fire showing with extension to the residence and vehicles. Chief 5 established the Colton's Point Command.

Engine 52 dropped a 5" supply line at Charles Hall Road and Colton Point Road and proceeded to the scene. The crew pulled an 1 3/4" attack line and went to Side D to gain access to the residence. Engine 52's crew was able to extinguish the fire on both the exterior and interior of the house before working to knock down the fire in the garage. Tanker 5 arrived and supplied Engine 52 and pulled an additional attack line to the garage and the burning vehicles. Engine 51 was next arriving and proceeded to Beach Road and pulled a third line to the rear of the residence.

Once additional units began to arrive they assisted with extinguishing the fire in the garage. Truck 1 opened up inside the house and conducted a search. Squad 2 was assigned RIT until the house was checked for further extension and then they assisted at the scene. Crews from Engine 14, Engine 23 and Engine 74 all assisted with extinguishing the garage. Water Supply 5 set up a fill site at the storage tank at Company 5.

Once the fire in the garage was extinguished, the assignment was held with Companies 5, 1 and Squad 2. Units continued to operate for a short period of time extinguishing hot spots and conducting overhaul. SMECO was requested to the scene to secure the power and the on duty fire investigator was requested. At this time the fire remains under investigation.

All Company 5 units returned to quarters just before 0300 hours.
