On Saturday evening at 1956 hours, Stations 1, 5, 7, 2, 19 and 59 were alerted to a working house fire on St. Clement's Avenue in St. Clement's Shores. Engine 51 and Water Supply 5 responded to the call with 6 volunteers. Chief 1 arrived on the scene and advised he had fire showing from all four sides. The house was a single story home with a basement. Engine 10 arrived first and command requested them to utilized their deck gun to make an initial knock on the fire. There were exposure issues with the neighboring homes with the most severe being the residence on side Delta of the structure.

Engine 74 arrived supplying Engine 10 and took a line to side charlie of the house while Engine 73 arrived and took a line to Division 1. Engine 51 was initially sent to the exposure, which checked out clear. Engine 51's crew proceeded to the basement locating heavy fire throughout that area. Squad 2 and Engine 24's crew were also utilized inside the structure and for ventilation. A RIT was established in the front yard of the residence. Crews operated for an extensive period of time to bring the fire under control. Once the fire had been contained extensive overhaul was conducted.

Water Supply 5 set up a fill site at the boat ramp on Lady Baltimore Avenue. Engine 14 and Engine 224 were both utilized in the tanker shuttled and were filled several times. Engine 51 supplied a load of water to the scene prior to going in service. Ambulance 196 transported the occupant of the house to St. Mary's Hospital for smoke inhalation.

The State Fire Marshals Office was requested to the scene to conduct an investigation. Engine 51's crew assisted the Fire Marshal inside the structure for a short period of time. At this time the fire still remains under investigation. Engine 51 returned to quarters after operating for just over 3 hours at the scene.
