On Wednesday morning at 0448 hours, Stations 5, 59 and 19 were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Maddox Road in the area of Bashford Lane. Callers reported a single vehicle into a pole. Chief 5A and Chief 5 arrived and located a single vehicle overturned with a utility pole cut in half. The single patient self extricated from the vehicle. The assignment was held with Squad 5 and Ambulance 598. Squad 5 arrived and secured the scene while EMS cared for the patient. Ambulance 598 transported priority two to St. Mary's Hospital. The scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police and all units returned to quarters within 45 minutes.
