On Sunday morning at 0736 Station 5, 2, Truck 1 and 59 were alerted to a chimney fire on Abells Cattle Trail in Maddox. Chief 5 arrived on scene and located a two story residence with smoke from the chimney. Upon investigation Engine 52's crew found an active fire in the chimney. After cleaning out the fire box, crews used an extinguisher to put out the flames and then chained the chimney. Truck 1 assisted on the roof and took an attic ladder to division two to check for any extension.

Water Supply 5 was returning from a house fire in Lexington Park and came to the scene with Engine 51's crew. Engine 24 along with Squad 5 and Ambulance 598 were held in staging. Once the fire was extinguished and no extension was found, the assignment was held with Company 5 and Truck 1.

Crews continued to operate for approximately 45 minutes before restoring and returning to quarters.
