On Monday morning at 0644 hours, Company 5, Squad 1, EMS Stations 59, 19, 29 and the medic unit were dispatched for a personal injury accident reported serious with possible entrapment. Squad 5 responded shortly after dispatch with four volunteers and received reports of a three vehicle accident and that a door pop was needed. Squad 5 arrived and located the same, and the crew began stabilization and was able to complete the extrication in under a minute. Engine 52 arrived just behind the Squad and began stabilizing the second vehicle, with the third vehicle not having any damage as it just simply slid off the roadway. Ambulance 298 was the first arriving ambulance and assisted packaging and loading the female patient from the car and transported to SMH priority 3. Ambulance 797 arrived next and obtained a signed refusal from the van operator. Crews operated for just under an hour before command was terminated and the scene was turned over to the Maryland State Police.
