On Monday night after our monthly business meeting, Stations 5, Squad 5, 1, Squad 1, 59, 19, and ALS were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Budds Creek Road at Colton Point Road. Reports were of a single vehicle overturned on fire with ejection. Chief 5 and Squad 5 responded shortly after dispatch with 8 volunteers. Chief 5 arrived on scene and located a single vehicle on its side fully involved. The patient had been ejected and bystanders moved the patient away from the fire.

Chief 5 established command and requested a helicopter Category A, priority one. Squad 5 arrived on scene and pulled their hand line to the vehicle while other crew members began an assessment on the patient. Squad 1, Engine 11 and Engine 52 arrived on scene together and assisted with both patient care and extinguishing the vehicle.

Ambulance 398 was clearing the hospital and responded to the scene and was the first arriving EMS unit. Command held the assignment with the fire apparatus, Ambulance 398 and Paramedic Ambulance 598. Engine 52 handled the landing site for Trooper 7 in an open field next to the accident scene.

Trooper 7 flew the patient to PG Trauma Center. Command was terminated a short time later. Squad 5 remained on the scene and assisted the Sheriff's Office for approximately two hours. State Highway responded for traffic control. Brush 5 also responded to the scene for a wash down.
