On Wednesday morning at 0849 hours, Station 5 was alerted to a boat fire on land on Jack Gibson Road in Avenue. Engine 51 responded to the scene with a 5 volunteers. Chief 5A arived and located at 18' center console boat fully involved. Engine 51 arrived and the crew pulled a hand line to the boat to extinguish the fire. The fire was brought under control within 5 minutes. The crew check a shed next to the boat for extension and none was found. The Fire Marshal's Office was called to the scene to investigate the incident. Engine 51 returned to quarters once the fire investigator arrived.
