As units were clearing the mass casualty incident in Chaptico, a house fire was dispatched on Banerjee Court in Avenue. As units responded they were advised that the house was hit by lightning and was charged with smoke. Engine 51 arrived and dropped a line at the end of the driveway. Upon arrival they located a single story house with smoke showing.

Tanker 5 arrived next and picked up Engine 51's line. Chief 5A arrived and established the command until the arrival of Chief 5. The crew from Engine 51 advanced a line to the house and began to open up the walls in the kitchen. The fire was located above the ceiling.

Engine 51's crew knocked the fire and Truck 1 proceeded to the scene and assisted with checking for further extension. Once none was found the assignment was held with Companies 5, 1 and EMS 59. The power was secured to the residence and the fire was caused from lightning hitting the vent above the kitchen of the house.

Units operated on the scene for approximately an hour before returning to quarters.
