On Sunday at 1132 hours, Station 5, Boat 5, Charles Boat 6, and EMS Stations 59 and 19 were alerted to a water rescue in the Wicomico River off Bushwood Wharf. Units responded and were advised a canoe overturned and two subjects were in the water. Chief 5 arrived on scene and established the command. The subjects could be seen hanging onto the canoe about 300 yards off shore.

Boat 5 launched from Bushwood Wharf and quickly made it to the canoe. Both subjects were pulled onto Boat 5. The crew from the boat brought both the patients and their canoe back to Bushwood Wharf Landing. Command held the assignment with Company 5 and Ambulance 597. Once the patients were brought to shore they were checked by EMS and signed refusals.

Units returned to quarters within 45 minutes.
