Tuesday afternoon at 1444 hours, Companies 5, 59 and 19 were alerted to Maddox Road in the area of Bushwood Road in Bushwood for a motor vehicle accident with injuries. Captain 5 arrived on the scene just after dispatch and advised of a two vehicle accident still in the roadway with two patients. Ambulance 597 arrived and began assessing the patients, one of which was a signed refusal. Squad 5 arrived shortly after secured both vehicles and assisting the EMS crew. A597 transported one patient priority two to MedStar St. Mary's Hospital. The scene was then turned over to the St. Mary's Sheriffs Office. Units operated for just under 30 minutes before returning to quarters.
