On Saturday evening at 1731 Companies 5 and 1, were alerted to the Longview Beach Subdivision for the reported electrical fire in a residence. Engine 52 responded shortly after dispatch with 4 volunteers, and while en route Chief 5 went on the scene with a single story residence with nothing evident. Engine 52 arrived and laid a 3' supply line from Longview Boulevard and Meadow Road, then had their crew investigate the interior of the residence. Tanker 5 arrived next and picked up Engine 52's line. Squad 5 arrived next and sent their crew into the residence to check the attic area and assist the engine crew. All other units staged on Longview Blvd while units operated on the scene.

The engine crew found a light haze in the residence and began checking rooms with the thermal imager, while the squad did the same in the attic access. No fire was found, but it was determined that the chimney damper may have been open prior to units arrival and due to the weather conditions may have caused light smoke conditions in the residence. The assignment was held with units from Station 5 and the balance of the assignment was returned. Crews operated for approximately one hour and Chief 5 held the Meadow Road Command.
