Late Sunday night Station 1, Squad 1, Squad 5, EMS Stations 19, 59 and ALS were alerted to a serious motor vehicle accident on Budds Creek Road in the area of Pin Cushion Road. Units were advised a single vehicle was off the road and on fire, with two subjects trapped. Squad 5 and Engine 52 both responded with a total of 10 volunteers along with the units from Company 1. Chief 5A arrived on the scene and found both subjects had been removed from the vehicle. There was a small fire in the front of the vehicle.

Engine 11 arrived and the crew began patient care and extinguished the remaining fire. A helicopter was requested for both patients. Engine 52 was sent to Bowles Farm to handle the landing site. Once no entrapment was confirmed Squad 5 and Truck 1 were placed available.

EMS crews from Company 19 and 59 transported the patients to the landing site. Trooper 7 took both patients and Trooper 2 was placed in service. Squad 1 and Engine 11 remained on the scene to assist the State Police.

Company 5 units returned to quarters within an hour. All photos courtesy of www.scanmd.org
