On Tuesday morning at 0635 hours, Company 5 was alerted mutual aid to Leonardtown for a reported structure fire. The initial dispatch was for a shed fire assignment which alerted Stations 1, 7 and Truck 1. After additional calls were received, the assignment was upgraded to a working structure fire. Engine 52 and Squad 5 both responded on the assignment. First arriving units from Companies 1 and 7 found a detached garage fully involved with extension to a nearby residence.

Engine 52 responded with four volunteers and upon arrival began assisting with fire suppression and overhaul. Squad 5 arrived shortly after and was briefly assigned to the R.I.T crew. After a short period they were released from that assignment and began assisting Engine 52 on the charlie side of the structure. Crews operated for just over 2 hours before being released. The State Fire Marshals Office was called to the scene to investigate and crews from Company 5 assisted briefly.

All units returned to quarters by 0915 hours.
