On Saturday at 1136 hours Companies 7, 1, 9, 3, 83, Water Supply 5 and EMS Stations 79 and 19 were alerted to 40035 Smiths Nursery Road for the reported house on fire. Water Supply 5 responded with a crew of four, and as units were marking up Command 7 arrived and advised of a large two story residence with a basement with heavy fire on the first and second floors. At that point a second alarm was struck, several additional companies to the assignment including Engine 52 and Tanker 5. Crews stretched several lines but because of the heavy fire involvement were limited resulting in an exterior attack on the fire.

Water Supply 5 arrived to the scene and drafted directly from the river as the residence was on the water. Water Supply 5 supplied Tanker 74 directly at the fire ground and the crew reported to side delta to assist with operations. Engine 52 and Tanker 5 staged briefly before having their man power sent to the scene to assist also. Crews operated on the scene for just under 4 hours before returning to quarters.
