Five Transported From Clements MVA

Wednesday evening at 1910 hours, Stations 5, 59 and 19 were alerted to a motor vehicle accident on Colton Point Road in the area of Hurry Road. A short time after dispatch the assignment was upgraded adding Squad 1 and the medic unit for possible subjects trapped. Units arrived on the scene and found two vehicle approximately 100 yards apart and all patients out of the vehicle. Squad 5 established the command.

Crews from Squads 5 and 1 secured the vehicles and assisted with patient care. A total of five patients were treated for injuries. Command requested a helicopter for one of the patients but the helicopters were down due to weather. Ambulance 598 ground transported the patient to Prince George's Hospital.

The other four patients were transported to St. Mary's Hospital. Once the patients were transported Squad 1 and Engine 51 were released from the scene. Squad 5 assisted the Sheriff's Office for a short time before returning to quarters. Anyone with information about this accident is asked to contact the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office.
