On Thursday morning at approximately 0234 hours, Company 5 was alerted mutual aid to Leonardtown for the reported working house fire. Engine 52 and Squad 5 responded with a total of 9 volunteers. Chief 1 arrived on location to a single story, single family residence with heavy fire on the rear.

Upon Engine 52's arrival they were temporarily asssigned to the R.I.T group and began opening paths of egress for the first arriving units. Squad 5 arrived shortly after and took over R.I.T duties. Engine 52 then stretched an attack line through the front door and began assisting the other crews with extinguishing the fire.

After the bulk of the fire was knocked, Engine 52 was reassigned to roof operations and began venting the residence. Squad 5 began assisting with some light overhaul.

Crews operated for approximately 4 hours before being placed in service and returning to quarters.
