On Saturday December 3, 2016 the annual installation of officers was held at Holy Angels Hall in Avenue. The evening began with the installation of the 2017 officers for the department. After the new officers were sworn in, the guests enjoyed a meal prepared by Rita B's Catering. Once dinner was over, the memorial ceremony and awards were presented. Sheriff Tim Cameron was the Master of Ceremonies for the event. A memorial ceremony was held for Past Chief George McWilliams. The McWilliams Family was presented a shadow box with pins and the flag flying at the station at the time of his death.

The awards were then given out with several members receiving them for their accomplishments throughout the year. The awards list is as follows.

45 Years of Service - John H. Nelson
20 Years of Service - Chris Mattingly
15 Years of Service - George Hayden and T.J. Faunce
Top Responder - T.J. Faunce
Top Driver - Kim Mason
Top Training - Josh Phetteplace
Rookie of the Year - Sean Wilt
Firefighter of the Year - Kim Mason

Several appreciation awards and certificates were presented during the ceremony to our allied agencies and community supporters. The department was also presented a check from the 7th District Optimist Club for assisting them throughout the year. We thank everyone who we have worked with over the past year and look forward to 2017
