Saturday evening at 1721 hours, Station 5, Squad 5, Squad 1, EMS 59, 19 and ALS were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Budds Creek Road in the area of Long Road. Chief 5 arrived on scene shortly after dispatch and located three vehicles with a total of 6 patients. One vehicle was overturned but the patient was out of the vehicle. Command was established by Chief 5.

Squad 5 and Engine 52 arrived and stabilized and secured the vehicles before assisting EMS with patient care. Squad 5 removed the doors on one vehicle for better access to the two patients in the vehicle. Two additional ambulances were requested to the scene. This brought Ambulances 299 and 798 to the scene. After assessment Ambulance 198 requested a helicopter for one of the patients.

Engine 52 was committed to the accident initially and Station 1 was alerted to the Landing Site. Because the helicopter was landing north of the accident Engine 23 responded to the scene. Ambulances 599 and 299 transported three patients to Medstar St. Mary's Hospital. Trooper 7 transported to PG Trauma center.

Once all patients were transported the scene was turned over to the Sheriff's Office. All units returned to quarters within an hour.
