Fire Boat And Squad Respond To Leonardtown House Fire

On Tuesday at 1445 hours Stations 1, 6, 3, 7, Truck 1, Truck 7, Squad 5, EMS 19, EMS 6, and ALS were dispatched to Riverwinds Drive in Leonardtown for a House Fire with a possible person trapped. Engine 11 was first to arrive finding a 1 story single family home with fire showing from all sides. Engine 11 advised all occupants were out of the house and that this was going to be a defensive operation. While Squad 5 was responding, Boat 5 was added to the assignment. The house was located directly on the Potomac River. Boat 5 arrived on scene and was utilized to supply the fire ground from the pier at the residence. The fire was brought under control within 30 minutes of the initial arrival. Boat 5 remained on the scene until 1800 hours. Tanker 5 transferred to Station 1 during the incident.
