Crews Run Chimney Fire In Chaptico

At 0057 hours on Saturday morning Engine 5 and Tanker 5 along with surrounding companies were alerted to a chimney fire on Maddox Road in Chaptico. The house was accessed off both Hurry Road and Maddox Road. Chief 5A was first to arrive located a two story residence with smoke from the chimney. Engine 52 and Truck 1 arrived together. Engine 52 pulled a hand line to the front door while Truck 1 laddered the roof. Chief 5 arrived next and established the Chaptico Command. Tanker 14 was brought back to the scene and all other units were held on Maddox Road. Crews investigated and located no extension from the chimney. The assignment was held with Engine 52, Truck 1, Tanker 14 and Engine 23. The ambulance also continued to stage until personnel were done operating on the roof. Crews operated on the scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to quarters.
