Brush And Marsh Fire In Clements

On Thursday afternoon Station 5 was alerted to a brush fire in the area of 23098 Grampton Road in Clements. Chief 5A was first to arrive, locating a large area of brush and marsh on fire. An additional brush unit and a boat were requested to the scene. Brush 5, Brush 5A with the UTV and Tanker 5 all responded initially to the scene. As crews operated, Chief 5A also requested a third brush company and another tanker. Crews operated for approximately an hour extinguishing the fire and hitting hot spots. Charles Boat 6 extinguished the areas along the shoreline that were not accessible to the brush units. Department of Natural Resources Forestry is investigating the incident.
