| On Wednesday evening at 1944 hours Stations 5 and 1, were alerted to 24328 Horseshoe Road, for the electrical fire. Engine 54 responded shortly after the dispatch with four personel followed by Engine 51 and Squad 5. Chief 5 was the first to arrive on scene, advising of a single story, single family dwelling with nothing showing. Engine 54 arrived next laying a 5" supply line from the end of the driveway at Horseshoe Rd. Engine 14 then arrived picking up E54's line. The home owner advised Chief 5 of an underground electrical wire that was arcing. This caused him to lose power and filled the house with a burning odor. Engine 54's crew stretched a hand line to the rear of the residence and secured power. Crews from Engine 14 and Engine 51 then checked the residence with the thermal imager for possible extension. Truck 1 and Squad 5 staged briefly on Horseshoe Rd and were then placed in service. Command had Fireboard contact SMECO and held Engine 54 only until their arrival. |
