Saturday afternoon Station 5, Squad 5, Squad 2, EMS 59, 19 and ALS were dispatched to a serious motor vehicle accident on Oakley Road in Avenue. Chief 5 arrived to find a box truck on its side with a single patient who was out of the truck. EMS evaluated and requested a helicopter for the patient. Engine 51 handled the landing site at Station 5 for Trooper 7. HazMat 18 also responded to assist with leaking fluids from the truck. Squad 2 and all other EMS were placed in service prior to arrival. Units remained on scene until the truck was towed to secure the fluid leaks.
