| At 9:38 p.m. on Friday, a structure fire was dispatched on Lagoon Drive in Longview Beach. Initial reports indicated the house was on fire with people still inside. Safety 5A arrived on scene and located a single-story home with fire showing from the bravo side of the home. It was confirmed that neighbors were able to get all occupants out of the house. Chief 5B arrived and established the command. Engine 52 laid a supply line from Lagoon Drive and Longview Blvd, and the crew stretched an attack line to the interior of the home. Once inside crews located the fire in the attic and began pulling ceiling to access the fire. Tanker 5 arrived and supplied Engine 52 with water. Engine Tanker 54s crew pulled an additional line to the structure. Truck 1 arrived and assisted opening up on the interior for access to the attic. Engine 71 was sent to the boat ramp in Longview Beach to set up a draft but did not have to be utilized. The fire was knocked down and held under control in approximately 15 minutes. The assignment was then held with Companies 5, 1 and 2. Units continued operating and conducting overhaul for approximately 45 minutes. Once all overhaul was complete command was terminated and all units returned to quarters. Thanks to Engine 71 for covering at the station until units were able to return. |
