Boat Responds To Hollywood Water Rescue

On Saturday afternoon at 1534 hours, Station 5 was alerted mutual aid to Company 7 for the boat to Cape St. Mary's Marina. Reports were of a vehicle in the water. Crews from Company 7 arrived and utlized a boat from the marina to gain access to the vehicle. The vehicle was fully submerged upon arrival and access was limited.

Boat 5 arrived and launched from the marina. Calvert County Dive Team members geared up and boarded Boat 5 and went into the water. A patient was located and pulled from the vehicle. Crews removed the victim from the water to awaiting EMS personnel who transported to St. Mary's Hospital.

Boat 5 remained on the scene and assisted crews with checking the vehicle again and pulling the vehicle closer to shore. St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.

Boat 5 returned to quarters in approximately 3 hours.
